Project summary

SgurrEnergy is providing engineering and design review for Nextcom Engineering’s 30 MW integrated renewable energy project in Israel, combining ground-mounted solar PV, floating solar PV and battery energy storage. The assignment covers electrical systems, MV collection, power-conversion equipment, transformers, protection, earthing, grid integration and 22 kV evacuation. It also includes review of floating-solar interfaces, equipment integration and constructability. SgurrEnergy coordinates with the client, EPC contractors, OEMs and multidisciplinary teams to identify design gaps, resolve technical issues and manage the interfaces between land-based, water-based and storage assets.

Project context

The project combines three distinct renewable-energy technologies within one site: ground-mounted PV, floating solar PV and BESS. This configuration creates interdependencies across generation profiles, electrical collection, protection, control, equipment layout, waterbody interfaces and grid evacuation. SgurrEnergy acted as the Design Engineering and Design Review consultant for the 30 MW Ground-mounted PV, floating solar PV and BESS project in Israel. The team coordinated the relevant engineering disciplines, technical interfaces, studies, design documentation and stakeholder inputs across the assignment lifecycle. The role was structured to improve technical clarity, compliance, constructability and traceable closure of design matters.
